From Stressed to Centered in 4 Seconds

November 3, 2009 by Cassandra Rae · View Comments

My life and schedule has somewhat imploded over the last couple of weeks: I have a 16 year old daughter and we’re going through a bit of a rough patch.  We’re remodeling our kitchen for the first time.  I’m taking a class to write my book proposal.  All while running my business and our household.  Whew…I even wonder how I’m doing it all and still journaling & exercising daily!

Today has been one of those days when I feel the stress & anxiety building so I thought I would share one of my best tips for staying grounded.  It’s so simple.  All I do is :

Pause.

Breathe.

Relax.

And receive.

I imagine that there is an endless amount of whatever I need such as patience, love, trust, etc.  and that as I breathe in I am bringing it in to my being.  Yes, I know, it’s a little woo-woo.  But, I have to say that this one really works.  It helps bring me back to that calm, centered place where I can think clearly and take one step at a time.  Ahhhh…

Why is it that The Hubs and the animal babies are so much better at chilaxing?!

Happy Family

What do I do? Go to the Word of God (Bible). It is full of truths and promises. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:7-8. It is easy to get worried in this life with bills to pay and work to do. But we are commanded not to worry and to take all our requests to God. And Christ Jesus will fill us with perfect peace. Amen.
  • Sounds like you've got a solid source of perfect peace, Gina. You go!
  • Hi! Thanks for checking in on my blog. NaBloPoMo can be a real challenge and it makes it much nicer when new people stop in and say hi!

Your stress relieving method seems so simple. I definitely will have to give it a try. Life with a 4 year old and a 1 year old sure comes with a lot of stress. Right now when I need a moment to breath I tend to rely on turning on NickJr, locking the baby gate on the tv room and taking a few moments to myself to check in on my Google Reader list.
  • Aw...thanks for visiting! I totally want & need a Google Reader list. I am going to add you to it too :~)
