Rock Out Your 30 Second Intro

November 7, 2009 by Cassandra Rae · View Comments

Earlier this week I went to a networking luncheon and I came up with a new 30 second intro that highlighted 3 ways to tell if you are getting in your own way and here they are:

  1. You keep saying things like, “I’ll get to that next week,” and you don’t,
  2. You spend way too much time writing for your blog or newsletter, and
  3. You’re waiting to fully launch your biz until you get it perfect.

Oh you should have heard all the ladies at the event moan and groan as they heard this list because we’ve all fallen prey to one or more or all of the above!

But, check this out.  I ended my intro by saying, “If you know a FEMpreneneur who’s getting in her own way, then please give her my card for a free 30 minute coaching session.”

Woohoo!  It was probably one of my best and most concise introductions.  So if you are crafting your own 30 second introduction keep these tips in mind:

  1. Write out what you’re going to say ahead of time.
  2. Say it out loud until it’s comfortable.
  3. Highlight 3 reasons why a potential client would check you out.
  4. Have an awesome business card to pass around that people want to keep.

I hope these help.  Feel free to post your 30 second intro as a comment for all of us to check out.

Oh, and if you are getting in your own way, then please don’t hesitate to book your free 30 minute coaching session with me!  I’d love to connect with you.

My cat Poppy says, “Get out of your own way!” Yeah, it’s easy for her to say. All she has to do is eat, nap, and occasionally knock the dog around a little!

And under that: From creativity to consciousness: practical workshops for adults.

But I can say that I am now starting to do what I have, and want to do, to make all this work. yeah.
