We don’t do this because it’s easy

Choose to See the Beauty

JFK said, “We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard.”

What an excellent reminder that we didn’t start our businesses because it was easy.  And we certainly don’t keep running our businesses because it’s easy.  Nope.  In fact, sometimes it can feel damn near impossible.

But, we started our business and we keep going because it speaks to:

  • our hearts,
  • our calling,
  • our talents, and
  • our skills.

I started my business because there simply wasn’t any way I couldn’t.   It was one of those things where I jumped right on in with excitement, enthusiasm, and energy having discovered something that totally transformed my life and I wanted to share it.  In fact, I wanted to tell everyone I knew about it and even coach them if they’d let me!

So here’s what I want you to do:

Invest 10 minutes right now writing down why you started your business.  Describe how you felt and what it meant to you to begin this journey.  Really remember what excited you about it and how it felt to come up with those first few business ideas.  Because the truth is…there will be days when it gets harder than hard and you will want to give up.  When that happens, you can simply turn to what you’ve written and be reminded how much this means to you, how good you are at it, and why it’s important to keep going.

  • I can think of better reasons to have started your business. I always say it's healthy to nurture something you're passionate about. In fact, I'm sure they are great reminders and motivators along the way as well.
  • Yes, it is super important to nurture something you're passionate about & I always encourage mothers to make sure they have at least 1 thing to nurture outside of their kids because the little ones grow up. Plus, it sets an awesome example :~)
