What is your Calling?

Hey Guys ~

How the heck are you?! I’ve missed you. I’ve wanted to blog and share so much with you in the past few weeks. And yet, my heart and Soul called me into retreat. You see, I’ve been creating like crazy on our upcoming eCourse. And I say “ours” because it is yours just as much as it is mine. It’s all about connecting with your Calling and by Calling I don’t mean some once-and-for-all dream job. Nor do I mean some divine secret that you have to figure out. Nope. It’s a living, breathing, dynamic part of being human and it comes in three parts. Check it out…

Your Calling comes from within
Your Soul is consistently calling you to your most joyful, fulfilled, and successful life. Your Soul knows the way and guides you through your:

intuition,
imagination, and
inspiration.

Your emotions tell you when you’re aligned with your Calling. When you feel inspired, excited, and joyful you’re connected with your Calling. When you feel overwhelmed, confused, and frustrated you’re disconnected from your Calling. There is a consistent voice within calling you to express your true heart’s desire and it cannot lead you astray.

Your Calling comes from your Peeps
Your Peeps are those people that bring out the best in you. When you come together there is a magical spark that energizes and inspires you. It’s so much easier to believe in yourself and your endeavors when you are connected with your Peeps. New doors of possibility open up and you find yourself boldly walking through them. You begin to see yourself in a new light and you share more of your true self. Your Peeps are calling you to step forward and put yourself out there so that they can benefit from your wisdom, talents, and contributions. You are an answer to their prayers.

You are calling people, events, things, and experiences into your life
Your focus has tremendous creative power. What you spend your time thinking and feeling about is what you are calling into your life. Think about yucky things and yucky things show up. Think about cool things and cool things show up. It’s all about what you expect to happen, what you believe is possible, and your overall attitude towards life. You have way more control and responsibility than you might think.

It is my dream that you are fully connected with your Calling
I’ve dedicated my life to connecting with my Calling and it is my dream that you are fully connected with your Calling too. I know this journey calls me to do big things in the world. Does it scare me? Oh yeah! It terrifies me. It challenges me. It stretches every limiting belief I’ve tried to hold onto. But, I’m dedicated to this process because my happiness is worth it. My purpose is worth it. My dreams are worth it. And so are yours.

What are you willing to do for your Calling?

First off, great big THANKS to Kate & Brian of Watsons-Unleashed for introducing me to this guy who dances very badly. You see, Kate & Brian decided to hold a contest {which I’m going to win, by the way :~} about picking a theme for their round-the-world adventure. They’ve already eliminated dancing badly in every country because this guy Matt has already done it twice over:

It totally gives me chills every time I see all those people come together to do a silly dance! It’s pointless really. Or is it? In fact, it’s quite monumental and let me tell you why:

This guy Matt is connected with his Calling.

And not only that…he was willing to change his life to accommodate it. Like most peeps, he wasn’t satisfied with your normal, every day 9-5 job. Nope. He wanted more. He wanted adventure. And so he quit. He quit his job to travel because it felt right.

Did he have all the answers when he left? Nope. In fact, I could imagine that he had more questions than answers and that part of him was asking, “What the hell am I doing?” But, he didn’t allow that to stop him. He didn’t stay trapped in a job that felt like it was choking the livelihood out of him.

Now, am I suggesting that all of you quit your job to travel the world dancing badly? No, of course not – unless it’s your Calling – but, I do want you to take notice, pay attention, and learn from this guy’s bad moves. Matt was willing to:

Let go of what most of us say is the “right” way to go {i.e. a college education & a stable 9-5 job}
Risk it all for his own happiness
Put himself out there
Showcase his unique style – no matter how silly or different
Create a lifestyle that fit for him
Follow his heart

And you know what? He ended up traveling the world at least twice over, getting a sponsor to pay for his travels, and becoming an internet super-star. Wouldn’t we all like to achieve that?! And we can. When we are connected with our Calling.
